About IncenseHub

Last updated: 2026-10-23 · Applies to incensehub.org and data.incensehub.org

IncenseHub (澜灯) is a research-led, English-language platform for Chinese botanical incense: its materials, botanicals, history, terminology, craft, and culture. It is published by Zhangjiakou Landeng Technology Co., Ltd.. This page states who we are, what we publish, how we work, and — just as deliberately — what we do not claim.

What IncenseHub is

IncenseHub is a knowledge platform — an ingredient encyclopedia, technique and history guides, and structured open datasets — for Chinese botanical incense. The name IncenseHub (澜灯) means "lantern on the waves" — a soft glow over still water. It is the brand name under which the company publishes its editorial content.

The platform is organized around one rule: knowledge is documented with source transparency. Every factual claim carries a source that resolves and supports the sentence it sits behind, or is labelled as traditional, editorial, or unverified.

What we publish

The site is organized around a few clear strands:

Who operates IncenseHub

IncenseHub is operated by Zhangjiakou Landeng Technology Co., Ltd. (张家口澜灯科技有限公司), the legal entity behind the platform. The following is the company's own published identity, drawn from the site's Organization schema and repeated on our legal pages so it can be verified against a second source:

We publish no invented credentials, no fabricated author, and no production statistics. Authority on this site comes from the traceability of each claim, not from a name attached to it.

Editorial team and methodology

IncenseHub's content is published under a single collective byline — "Landeng Tech Team" — rather than a named individual. There is no fabricated PhD, expert title, or review board behind any page. The byline is honest about what it is: the company's editorial team, working to a defined process that any reader can audit.

That process is described in full on our editorial methodology page. In short, every entity page is built through an eight-step method — establish the Chinese term, verify the botanical identity, normalize the English terminology, identify the historical source, separate modern scientific evidence, label trade terminology, mark uncertain claims, and review before publication. Sources are accepted by subject (botanical, historical, scientific, regulation, industry), restricted to an allow-list of authoritative hosts, and labelled with one of six evidence tiers, so a reader can tell fact from tradition from editorial view.

We separate three kinds of statement and label them consistently: historical record (what classical texts said, reported as history), scientific finding (what modern research has or has not established, with source and tier), and trade terminology (the vocabulary of the incense industry). Traditional use is never presented as modern clinical evidence, and an uncertain claim is marked uncertain rather than asserted.

Why source transparency matters

Chinese incense knowledge is a mixture of material fact, historical record, and market convention. The classical texts — 本草纲目 (the Compendium of Materia Medica) and 香乘 (the Xiangpu incense manuals) among them — record traditional uses that are history, not modern clinical evidence; the trade has its own grading vocabulary that is convention, not laboratory measurement. IncenseHub's value is that it keeps these categories apart and labels each one, so a reader, a search engine, or an AI system can tell which kind of claim a sentence is making. That is what we mean by "research-led": every factual claim carries a source that resolves and supports the sentence it sits behind, or is labelled as traditional, editorial, or unverified.

Our editorial lines

These are the lines we hold, stated plainly:

Imagery

Site imagery — material still-lifes, process illustrations, and hero banners — is illustrative editorial imagery generated with AI image tools for visual explanation. These images are not photographs of actual products, stock, or facilities, and they do not depict real, verifiable samples. Text, data, and classical-source quotations are handled separately: each page cites its references in an Evidence & Sources section. This is stated in full on our disclaimer, section 10.

Privacy and tracking

This is a static site. We collect personal information only when you choose to contact us, and we run no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies — see the cookie policy and the privacy policy for the item-by-item account of what we collect and do not collect.

Frequently asked questions

Who writes the articles on IncenseHub?

A single collective byline, "Landeng Tech Team", the editorial team of Zhangjiakou Landeng Technology Co., Ltd. There is no named individual author and no fabricated expert behind any page; authority rests on source traceability and the eight-step method described on our editorial methodology page.

How can I tell whether a claim is fact or tradition?

By the labels and the evidence tier. Historical record is labelled history, scientific findings are labelled with source and tier, trade vocabulary is labelled as such, and uncertain claims are marked uncertain. Each page cites its references in an Evidence & Sources section.

Is IncenseHub a store?

No. There is no online ordering or checkout. IncenseHub is a knowledge platform; any commercial enquiries are handled separately through the terms of service.

Are the images on the site real product photos?

No. The imagery is illustrative editorial imagery generated with AI image tools, and it does not depict actual products or facilities. See the disclaimer, section 10.

How to verify what we say

Because the site is built on traceability, you can check us page by page. Look for the Evidence & Sources section at the end of an entity page; confirm that a traditional claim is introduced as history rather than as an effect; note the evidence tier attached to a scientific statement. If you find a claim that does not resolve to a source, or a quotation you believe is mis-cited, that is a correction — write to us through the contact page and we will review it.

The structured datasets on data.incensehub.org carry the same evidence tiers as the prose, so a claim can be checked in both forms. If you want the machine-readable summary of the whole site, the llms.txt file and the sitemap are linked in the site footer.
